HERBAL MEDICINES FOR COUGH AND COLDS THAT YOU CAN GET FROM YOUR OWN BACKYARD
1. GINGER, CALAMONDIN/CALAMANSI, TAMARIND
Ginger / Luya
Tamarind / Sampalok
Calamondin / Calamansi
How to prepare:
Boil two pieces of ginger in a two glasses of water in 15-20 minutes just like a Salabat or Ginger Tea. Use strainer to get the juice of the ripe tamarind. Put it together with the boiling water with ginger. Add extract of 2-3 pieces of calamondin or calamansi. Add a sugar or honey. Drink it every 4 hours everyday until you feel better.
2. GUMAMELA FLOWER
Gumamela
A tea made out of a gumamela flower is a good drink for those who have colds or runny nose it will help them recover fast. A grounded leaves or flower of gumamela can be put directly at the top of your boils ( pigsa) if you have one, it will speed up the healing process of your boils (pigsa).
3. SAMBONG
Sambong
Its leaves can be prepared as a tea drink . It is a good expectorant .
